We are proud to share the 2026 GEDU Sustainable Development Goal 8 Report, highlighting how education can be a powerful driver of decent work, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic growth.

Across our global network, GEDU supports 75,000+ learners across 16 countries, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in evolving labour markets.

Global Banking School (GBS), GEDU’s leading institution for SDG 8, delivers programmes aligned with workforce needs in key sectors including healthcare, construction, digital technologies, and AI, helping address critical skills shortages while enabling learners to progress into sustainable careers.

Key highlights from the report:

· 6,000+ students studying health and social care, supporting workforce capacity

· 6,000+ construction management students helping address sector shortages

· 273 student businesses launched through the GBS Enterprise Hub

· £2.6 million annual business growth generated through student entrepreneurship support

· £132 million contribution to the UK economy over the past five years

GEDU is also investing significantly in future education infrastructure, including a £200 million investment in India, creating new opportunities for learners and generating 1,500 jobs.

By widening access to education, supporting lifelong learning, and working closely with industry partners, GEDU continues to demonstrate how education translates into real economic impact, from employment and enterprise to sustainable development.
